An adjustment is the hands-on part of chiropractic care. The purpose of an adjustment is to optimise the communication between your brain and your body. If your Chiropractor detects abnormal movement in your spine, we call this a vertebral subluxation or Chiropractic subluxation, a gentle, fast, specific adjustment will be performed to restore the spine’s normal movement.
Your Chiropractor can use different techniques to restore normal function depending on what is found.
During an adjustment, you may hear a popping sound; that can seem a bit strange, yet it is, in fact, completely harmless. It is just the release of gas between spinal segments. Other techniques may involve the use of a gentle instrument called an Activater or the use of blocks.
